Is Bookmarking Demon A Scam Or The Real Deal?

Bookmarking Demon is a really nice piece of software that allows you to submit your sites to major social bookmarking sites quickly and easily. I first heard mention of Bookmarking Demon from Vic at Blogger Unleashed. He's constantly mentioning it in his posts as one the main tools that he uses daily. I always knew that submitting my urls to these social networking sites was something I should be doing as a good SEO practice. However, I was always turned off by the tedious process of creating accounts, and then filling out all the same information for every site I wanted to submit.

This all changed when I took the plunge and purchased Bookmarking Demon. After spending 15 minutes watching the introductory videos, I was on my way to creating my accounts at 13 different social networking sites almost automatically. After entering my account information once, all I had to do was enter the various captchas and the Bookmarking Demon handled the rest. Submitting my sites was almost just as easy. Bookmarking Demon has this nice feature where it will load your meta-tags from your url and fill in the title, keywords and descriptions automatically. You can also add multiple titles, keywords and descriptions and by selecting the randomize option, Bookmarking Demon will randomly pick one of them to use when submitting to a site. This avoids any duplicate content penalties and also allows you to target many different keywords.

Alright, so what are the benefits of doing all this?

Highly targeted backlinks - Each keyword you submit to a social bookmarking site creates its own page. So multiply the number of keywords, by the number of sites you submit to and that's how many backlinks you'll be getting.

Faster search engine indexing - I bookmarked a several of my new sites with BookmarkingDemon and they were indexed by Google in 2-3 days on average. If you just submit your site to Google manually, the process could take weeks!

Higher search engine rankings - About half of the social bookmarking sites that Bookmarking Demon currently supports have dofollow links. These sites are have a PageRank ranging from 4 to 7 and the more of these high quality, one-way backlinks you have, the higher your site will rank in the search engine listings for your terms.

I hope you can see the immense power of Bookmarking Demon. Currently the price of this software is $97. However, version 4 of Bookmarking Demon is set to come out in the middle of August, 2008 and the rumor is that the price will jump significantly. If you buy now though, you'll lock yourself in at the $97 price and receive a free update when version 4 comes out. Still, $97 is quite a bit of money to cough up, so if you're still looking to do some more research, check out my full Bookmarking Demon review. It has some nice case studies and a more in-depth look at the features of Bookmarking Demon.

The current version of Bookmarking Demon is 3.6.1 and it officially supports the following social bookmarking sites:

del.icio.us PR 9 nofollow

mister-wong.com PR 7 dofollow

furl.net PR 7 nofollow

bibsonomy.org PR 6 dofollow

Bookmarking Demon 4

Bookmarking Demon 4 has been under development for quite awhile now, and BMD creator, Edwin Brian has just recently released the beta of the new version. It is supposedly only 60% complete, but it is still quite usable and I've been taking it through its paces.

The first thing you'll notice, is that the new Bookmarking Demon features a brand new interface. Gone is the bland UI, and in its place is a more colorful and more friendly looking interface. The interface is also more functional as everything can be done on the pages themselves which makes the whole bookmarking workflow more streamlined.

To reduce the chances of getting dinged for duplicate content, Bookmarking Demon 4 introduces a new { | } syntax for bookmarking titles and descriptions. Now you can include text like: Macbooks are { nice | great | cool } laptops and Bookmarking Demon will randomly choose one of those 3 words to include when bookmarking to a particular site.

My favorite feature so far are the rss feeds. In the preferences, you can now add rss feeds from your favorite sites (like engadget or reddit) and Bookmarking Demon 4 will automatically submit items from your feeds alongside your site. This lets you "hide" the site you are promoting and lessens the chances of you getting flagged by a bookmarking site for being a self promoter.

Currently, Bookmarking Demon 4 only supports 5 major bookmarking sites. Supposedly there will be more to come when the real release comes out. It also supports Scuttle, Scuttle Plus and Pligg sites, although I have not yet tested the effectiveness of these. All in all, I'm quite happy with what I've seen so far, and I'm glad the beta was released so we can play with it. Bookmarking Demon is being actively updated and there have already been 2 bug-fix releases since the beta was released. So if you were on the fence about purchasing Bookmarking Demon, make sure to check it out.

Bookmarking Demon 5

Bookmarking Demon 5 was released on October 7, 2009.  The layout again has been redesigned, although it retains the same look as BMD4.  The new version of the software introduces several new features that make the program the most powerful automated social bookmarking tool available.

New Project Management Features - You can now organize your bookmarking submissions into projects.  A project can have its own set of social bookmarking sites, and bookmarked urls to use.  This is a great feature for those who are running their own social bookmarking services and have numerous clients.

Automatic Email Verification - Bookmarking Demon 5 allows you to add in your own email accounts and the software will automatically verify emails for social bookmarking sites that require it.  This is a huge timesaver when creating accounts on many sites at once.

Support for 100 Total Social Bookmarking Sites - BMD5 currently supports 29 main bookmarking sites, and 71 Pligg, Scuttle, Scuttle Plus, and PhpDug sites.  The main bookmarking sites include highly ranked ones like Digg, Mixx, and Propeller.

Drip submissions - The new Bookmarking Demon scheduler allows you to submit your urls to social bookmarking sites over time.  The calendar interface is quite easy to use, and if you are worried about submitting urls to a large number of sites at once, then this is a feature you will want to use.

Bookmarking Demon 5 is a really significant release, and I am really liking what I'm seeing from it so far.  It's also much faster due to its multi-threading support, and the new browser view allows you to see what BMD is doing in real time.  As always, existing users get BMD5 as a free update.  New customers can purchase the software for $147.

I read your report, and I think you're off. I can't speak to the scuttle sites as I haven't been using them much, but I've personally not experienced the crashing and bugs that you have. Also, if you buy through clickbank, you should have no problem getting refund. You have 60 days and can refund for any reason. So I really don't understand this 10% success rate thing. You don't even have to deal with the author at all.

Bookmarking Demon Not a Scam 3 years ago

Bookmarking demon is not a scam. It works just fine althought right now it is working rather poorly. But it works great if you know what you are doing. Dude, you have jumped to conclusions which I'm sure you must do at every opportunity. I get shit for traffic but my indexing is super fast and I do get some anchored links. Good stuff indeed.
